The Akron Civic Theatre has long been recognized among the community’s cultural landmarks and has a rich and spectacular history.  LDA had the opportunity to add to this legacy by adding four new spaces. The historic restoration of the neighboring  Whitelaw Building now houses the Knight Stage venue for 200 guests on the upper two levels. The next level below is home to new administrative offices. The lowest level provides an intimate venue called Wild Oscar’s for about 50 guests. An addition housing a new box office, elevator, outdoor deck and staircase is located along the south side of the main entrance. The addition provide a nice transition to the adjacent park atmosphere and connects the interiors spaces to the exterior.
